Scope of Work
P&R Tower Company completed the removal and installation of a 12,000 lb television antenna on the broadcast tower atop Mt. Ashland. The work required precision rigging to safely lower the existing antenna and hoist the replacement into position at the top of the structure.
Site Challenges & Safety
The Mt. Ashland site presented a demanding set of constraints. Working space was extremely limited, and the tower sits within a federally protected environmentally sensitive area, so every phase of the job was carried out under intense regulatory and environmental scrutiny. Strict containment and handling practices were maintained throughout to protect the surrounding alpine terrain.
Because the work was closely watched, multiple live-feed cameras were used to document critical aspects of the operation, with more than 80 IP addresses logged in to monitor the lift and installation in real time.
